Dr. Leerapan is a board-certified preventive medicine physician, health policy and systems researcher, and currently associate professor at Mahidol University’s Ramathibodi Medical School. His research focuses on applying complexity sciences in health systems governance to advance healthcare quality and health equity. His academic work aims to support health systems strengthening through systems thinking methodologies such as system dynamics modeling and group modeling building. His recent work includes a design of integrated patient journeys for chronically ill patients in primary care settings and a system dynamics modeling for national health workforce planning. He also serves on organizational and national committees, including the Scientific Advisory Committee of the Prince Mahidol Award Foundation under the Royal Patronage. 

Borwornsom obtained his medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, a Master’s degree in Health Policy and Management from Harvard University, and a PhD in Health Systems Research from the University of Minnesota.
